The German Forum for Inheritance Law (Deutsches Forum für Erbrecht e.V.) is a non-profit association. Its members are almost exclusively specialist lawyers in inheritance law, as well as lawyers and notaries who also have extensive experience as advisors in the field of inheritance law and inheritance tax law.
Inheritance law, succession of assets and businesses during one's lifetime, as well as inheritance and gift tax law are among the most important areas of law today, now that the so-called "generation of heirs" has grown up and considerable assets have to be transferred in many places.
Nevertheless, many citizens still treat the topic as taboo, while others, although they recognize the need for action, fail to seek expert advice and become victims of flawed legal arrangements. This often results in financial or even familial disaster.
