Social responsibility is an integral part of our identity. Through our commitment, we support selected social and cultural initiatives in Dresden and contribute to preserving and promoting the diverse social and cultural life of our city.
The association supporting [the project] has been receiving funding for many years. Church Music Dresden-Blasewitz eV., the Friends of the Dresden Kreuzchor Association. and the Friends of Striesen Cemetery Dresden.
The Association for the Promotion of Church Music supports in particular:
the musical arrangement of church services and concerts,
the work of choir and instrumental groups,
the development of young musical talent,
the procurement and maintenance of instruments, sheet music and other equipment.
For centuries, the Dresden Kreuzchor has stood for musical excellence, a living tradition, and outstanding support of young talent. The Friends of the Dresden Kreuzchor make a significant contribution to this, providing both financial and organizational support to the choir since 1993. This commitment is complemented by the Friends' Foundation, whose proceeds sustainably benefit the training, equipment, and realization of musical projects.
The Striesen Cemetery is far more than a place of remembrance. As a listed historical monument, it preserves a significant piece of Dresden's urban history. Numerous prominent figures who shaped the city's cultural, scientific, and social life have found their final resting place here. Many graves are listed as historical monuments and deserve special attention and care.
Preserving this cultural heritage is an important task that the cemetery administration cannot accomplish alone. Historical research, the maintenance of listed graves, and their long-term preservation depend on the commitment of the Friends' Association as well as the support of patrons and volunteers.
